The Greater Morgantown Metropolitan Planning Organization has updated its Web site to include information on the county’s proposed $2-a-week service fee plan.
New information was posted Monday, including a detailed list of the 18 road construction projects approved by the Monongalia County Commission, a verbatim transcript of the question-and-answer portion of a public forum sponsored by The Dominion Post and a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that details the state’s funding forecast for the Greater Morgantown MPO.
The service fee is expected to generate about $150 million in revenue for road construction projects over the next 30 years. The fee must be approved by the commission by Sept. 26 in order for a special election to be held on the suggested date of Jan. 26, 2008.
