Financing West Virginia's Highways: Challenges and Opportunities

2009 TRIP Report 

ARTBA Economics & Research Fact Sheet - The Federal Highway Administration recently calculated that every $1 billion of federal investment in highways and bridges supports a total of 34,779 jobs throughout the economy when the state match is included. Since state highway investment does not include any match, the impact will be a bit smaller but nonetheless significant.

17th Annual Report on the Performance of State Highway Systems - The Reason Foundation's 17th Annual Report on the Performance of State Highway Systems measures the performance of all state-owned roads and highways from 1984 to 2006. The study calculates the effectiveness and performance of each state in 12 different categories, including traffic fatalities, congestion, pavement condition, bridge condition, highway maintenance costs, and administrative costs.

WVBT 2008 Legislative Candidate Survey - Results from a survey of legislative candidates. Sixty-six (66) responses were received. 

The Transportation Challenge: Moving the U.S. Economy - A study showing the linkages between the capacity and performance of the nation’s transportation system and U.S. economic productivity, competitiveness, and growth.
